One of my core principles is never using genuine leather. This isn’t just a trend or a preference — it’s a deeply personal decision. Many years ago, I made a conscious choice: no living being should suffer for fashion. Thankfully, the world offers an abundance of high-quality, durable, and visually rich textile alternatives.

In the beginning, I experimented. I tried different fabrics, tested how they felt, how they held structure, and how they worked with my punch needle embroidery technique.
- Denim – was my first choice, but it didn’t provide the structure I needed.
- Wool felt & coat fabrics — thicker and sturdier, with a beautiful texture that blends naturally with my embroidery.
- Upholstery fabrics — strong, durable, and available in an incredible range of textures and colors, giving my bags a rich, high-end aesthetic.

My bags are made to last. The fabrics I use — coat textiles and upholstery materials — are designed for heavy use, whether in outerwear or furniture. If these fabrics can withstand everyday wear and tear on sofas and armchairs, they certainly hold up in a handbag. Of course, longevity also depends on how we treat our belongings.
